Monthly Village Community Meeting

MONTHLY COMMUNITY MEETING:

The Empowerment Network hosts a monthly community meeting where residents and community leaders come together to discuss issues, develop solutions, report on progress and prioritize next steps.

The monthly community meeting is held on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Omaha North High School.  Attendance ranges from 50 to 300+ depending upon the topic.

As part of the monthly meeting, the Network and community partners host summits focused on specific topics.

ANNUAL TOPICS:

Dec./Jan. – State of North Omaha/State of African-Americans

February – Annual Health Summit with CEO’s of Health Systems

March – Annual Violence Prevention and Justice Summit with Police Chief Todd Schmaderer

April – Housing and Revitalization Summit or Raise the Vote (during election season)

May –  Summer Preview – Activities/Events

June – Arts and Culture Summit

July – No Meeting

August – Back to School Summit

September – Jobs and Careers Summit

October – Raise the Vote or Transportation

November – State of Education Summit with Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Logan

December – State of North Omaha/State of African-Americans with Mayor, City Council, County Commissioners, Congressional Members, Chief of Police, Superintendent and community partners.
