The Village Empowerment Center is a collaborative initiative of the Empowerment Network.
VISION:
The Village Empowerment Center (VEC) will be recognized nationally as a place where youth and adults are prepared to collaborate, create and lead. The VEC connects youth and families to empowering services, resources and opportunities.
The VEC helps to develop empowered innovators and producers, living their lives with purpose!
The VEC is a one stop center where families can connect and interact directly with providers in the areas of: Employment, Housing, Education, Health, Entrepreneurship and all areas of STEAM!

- Summits
- Workshops
- Training
- Education
- Collaboration
- Planning Sessions
- Community Engagement
On-site partners at the center include: Empowerment Network, Step-Up Omaha!, Charles Drew Health Center, Family Housing Advisory Services, Church on Purpose, Technology Consulting Solutions, Grow Nebraska, UNMC and others. Step-Up Omaha partners also include: Business Seals, House of Bah, Emerging Ladies Academy and Social Preneur Lab.
Step-Up Omaha programming at the Center is funded in part by the City of Omaha and Charles E. Lakin Foundation. The STEAM programming is supported by the Obama Foundation/MBK Alliance, Google and Cox Communications.
